I am so excited for the re-release of the 1927 sci-fi classic, Metropolis. In celebration of the film's 75th Anniversary, Fritz Lang's science fiction masterpiece has been digitally reconstructed to its most complete version ever-over a third longer than the previous "Moroder" version. Possibly the most famous and influential of all silent films, this restoration by the Munich Film Archive brings us as close to the original release print as possible, and features the original score by Gottfried Huppertz (performed by a 60-piece orchestra) and newly translated subtitles. The movie will be featured at the Kensington Cinema in San Diego, from June 4th to June 11th.

Before the Sunrise is easily one of my favorite movies. Before Sunrise is a romance between a young American (Jesse) and a French student (Celine). A chance encounter on the train incites intrigue, and Jesse provocatively suggests that Celine postpones her return to France and embarks instead on a spontaneous expedition to Vienna. In the course of their 14-hour relationship, the two share in their love for the unrehearsed and their appreciation for the unexpected as they explore in a powerful meeting of hearts and minds

A Single Man: I loved it!

I went and saw "A Single Man" Over at the Hillcrest Landmark Cinema and it was just brilliant. Under the direction of Tom Ford it stars Colin Firth and Julianne Moore. I have to say that the first half of the movie might be somewhat repetitive but overall it's amazing. It's based on Cristopher Isherwood's novel (by the same name) and although I have not read it I thought it was a fantastic adaptation. The movie is particularly more relatable to gay audiences but nonetheless it can be viewed and understood from different perspectives of course. The acting is great, scenery is gorgeous, Jualianne makes for a great fag hag and the boys in the film are no to shabby either. In my opinion the movie was a success and recommend it to those with an appreciation for a good love story.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona y....

Directed by Woody Allen, Vicky Cristina Barcelona continues to be one of my favorite movies of all time. It makes me wish I lived the Bohemian Artist life of Juan-Antonio and Maria-elena. The movie stars Penelope Cruz (ricaaaa) and Scarlet Johanson. It's a must see if you ask me, the plot is very entertaining to see unfold and the soundtrack is just too good to miss out on. Makes me want to visit Barcelona so bad.
